Welcome to Hands of Praise
Hands of Praise is a small ministry group in numbers but whose focus is large. We prepare for ministry on Tuesday evenings by rehearsing together, praying together, and fellowshipping together. Through the art of sign language and God’s love we desire to edify the body of Christ. It is our aspiration that our lives reflect the words of the songs we sign. Although the songs to which we sign are meaningful by themselves, we believe that the art of sign language in combination with the written lyrics adds a meaningful visual dimension to the worship experience. The exhortation in verse 19 of 1 Corinthians is to remember that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The command in verse twenty is to glorify God in our bodies and in our spirits. Sign language offers us a unique opportunity to do both.
We understand that the work that Lord has for us to do can be hindered if our personal testimony does not line up with the Word of God. I pray that the personal prayer of each member follows Psalm 27 “one thing I ask, one thing I seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life ….” It is imperative that any member of Hands of Praise is willing to be broken, for God is in the blessing business and He has certainly placed His hand on this group. In order for us, through Him, to be a blessing to others we must first be broken.
Anyone interested in Hands of Praise, put on your seat belt, because experiencing God is an out of this world experience!
