Welcome to Home Missions

Our desire is to make disciples that love God and share His love with the world through missions education, prayer, encouragement and resourcing missionaries and para church organizations.

As an arm of the Montco Bible Fellowship evangelism ministry, the Home Missions Group is designed to facilitate increased awareness of and involvement in missions in our own lives and other believers at Montco.

The Home Missions Group supports a number of ministries and organizations that help us be His witnesses in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and in other parts of the United States.

Expectations of Home Missions Group members:

• Assist leaders of missions and church leaders in obeying the Great Commission
• Guide various areas of our church in the prayerful support of missionaries
• Aid in the development of the missions strategy for our church
• Educate the congregation in missions
• Plan an annual missions event
• Equip and enable individuals for personal involvement
• Serve as liaison with mission agencies
• See that missionaries are cared for and supported

The qualities desired in Home Missions Group members include:

• Commitment to God, the church and prayer
• Concern for lost people
• A cooperative spirit, good working relationships
• Flexibility, open to change
• A learner
• Faithful to follow through, dependable
• Some with leadership and organizational skills
• Some with good communications skills
• Some with creative talent
• Time to carry out the responsibilities

Expectations of Home Missions Group members in terms of time:

• Meet every third Saturday of each month at 12:00 p.m. (location may vary from time to time)
• Study and learn about missions
• Attend one or more missions learning events each year

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it with you. Thessalonians 3:1 

Beginning October 12, 2003 many members of our congregation committed to praying strategically for missionaries that Montco Bible Fellowship Supports.  Prayer teams were formed.  For a year each member of a team selected one or two missionaries and agreed to incorporate praying for them into their regular, daily prayer time.   Members of the Home and International Missions Groups lead prayer groups.  Every 3 months the groups will come together to pray corporately for our missionaries.
